Nght

A series about the beauty of sunsets, moonrises, and reflections. Due to the different light conditions during the day the same building can look different each time you look at it. Talking Peppers

Talking Peppers is a black and white art photograph from the series Nus Nous. The image shows peppers recorded in close-up, yet many viewers see human bodies or parts of them. The photograph is taken with a large format optical bench camera and microscope optics at very small apertures, which gives a shallow depth of field. The negative is printed by hand on cotton-backed paper and toned with selenium for long durability.

Satoro

Satoro is a series of photographs of a small satellite, produced for RedPeak. The images were taken before the satellite was sent into orbit, in a field where digital renderings are common. White backgrounds show the intricate details of the design, while the framing gives a sense of weight and presence. The compositions range from close-ups of small parts to wide-angle views of the complete unit. Contrasts of light and shadow reveal the patterns on the reflective metal surfaces. The photographs were made over two days in Taipei for digital and print use.

The photos, taken with a macro lens, depict security features, characters, and the beauty of their design. The images have been grouped into 3 categories: groups of notes, details, and abstract.

Sacred trees II

Sacred Trees II is a series of light painting photographs of ancient trees. Each image was taken after sunset or under moonlight, with exposures of five to twenty minutes. During each exposure the trees were painted with several flashlights fitted with colour gels. The finished works are presented as prints measuring 24 by 30 inches, with colours and forms arranged carefully within each frame. The series reflects an old Japanese belief that trees, rocks and water are resting places of gods, and it seeks to show the spiritual presence of nature.
